Your Inner Teacher Is Calling

A heartfelt congratulations to the 2025 graduates of the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at SHIFT!

It was an honor to guide you through your trauma-informed and accessible yoga modules. Your commitment to inclusive, mindful teaching and your presence in this world make a difference. Thank you for showing up fully and stepping into your dharma—our communities are better because of you!

Namaste, Reader,

Lately, I’ve been feeling the hum of overwhelm—have you felt it too?

Even in wellness spaces, there’s a pressure to do more, be more, and show up more “perfectly.” The culture of busyness can follow us into our yoga practice, making it hard to hear the quiet truth that’s always within us. Sometimes, I catch myself looking outward—comparing, questioning, grasping for clarity.

But this week, I returned to my practice—and to Svadhyaya, the yogic principle of self-study.

Instead of drowning in the noise, I paused. I asked:

✨ What is my dharma?
✨ What if I trusted myself more deeply?
✨ What if the answers are already here, quietly waiting for me to listen?

Through this reflection, I recommitted to Seva—selfless service—and remembered that when I lead from a place of authenticity and compassion, I am exactly where I need to be.

Learning and growing is a lifelong journey. We will always be imperfect—but perfectly so, in each living moment. When we slow down and cultivate the inner teacher, we reconnect with a divine wisdom that isn’t about having all the answers, but about knowing how to listen—both to ourselves and to the needs of our communities.

This week, I invite you to take a few deep breaths, set down the pressure to perform, and ask your heart:

What do I know to be true today?

And if you feel called to share—
What is one way your inner teacher has guided you recently?
I’d love to hear your reflections. Just hit reply and let me know what’s been coming up for you in your practice or your life.

From My Heart 2 Yours,
Taylor Lee Hitaffer, RYT-500, CYMC
