Namaste, Reader.
Before we talk about cueing, communication, or confidence, I want to start here:
Your nervous system sets the tone for the space you’re in.
Whether you’re guiding a yoga class, caring for children or elders, or holding emotional space in your community — the people around you are constantly tracking your breath, your pace, your voice, and your presence.
When you are regulated, others feel safer.
Here’s a simple practice you can integrate today, even in the middle of a busy life:
Embodied Self-Regulation (2 minutes):
- Stand or sit with both feet grounded
- Place one hand on your belly, one on your heart
- Inhale slowly through your nose
- Exhale longer than you inhale (a soft sigh helps)
- Silently name: I am here. I am enough.
You don’t need to be perfectly calm to support others — you just need to be present. That's how you begin building safe spaces where your communities can thrive.
This is one of the foundations of trauma-informed yoga and caregiving, and it’s something we’ll explore more deeply in my upcoming workshop:
Find Your Teacher’s Voice with Trauma-Informed Yoga
🗓 March 14 | Live on Zoom | Replay included
Even if you don’t identify as a “teacher,” this work is about learning how to show up with clarity, care, and confidence — starting with yourself.
